Behold The Taxman Cometh For Mullins Bay Hotel

Land Tax to sell thirty-four properties for back taxes
Wednesday, 22 March 2006
"The Barbados Land Tax Department has served notice that it will put some major properties on the auction block to collect millions of dollars in back taxes.

A west coast hotel and a Bridgetown office block are among the properties identified.

Today the Land Tax Commissioner published a list of 34 commercial and residential properties which he intends to sell to recover land taxes owed to the department.

The newspaper advertisement named King's Beach Hotel at Road View, St. Peter as one of the commercial properties in arrears that the department is threatening to auction-off.

It is understood that the hotel, along with the other properties in question owe a combined total of about 2.5 million dollars in tax arrears. " - more -
