Storm Clouds Darkening The Horizon

British Muslim family negotiating with jetski operator

This is usually to "low season" of the tourism year but this year the fallout from the global economic recession has made things even worse for the small players in the Mullins Bay area.  A couple days last week were lost to rain but even on the days when it was bright and sunny very few tourists were seen on the beach and some watersports operators didn't even bother to show up for work.  One jetski operator reported last Friday that he did not make a single dollar for the whole week  from the few tourists who visited the beach - all "looking for a deal."  Good news coming out of Europe regarding economies emerging from recession probably means that the coming winter season will be bright but right now storm clouds still darken the horizon.
